The AOS Trochanteric Nail offers innovation in both its implant design and its instrumentation. As a culmination of input from hundreds of surgeons with years of trochanteric nail experience, the system provides a concise and comprehensive “troch nail” that offers the surgeon the ease of implantation with fewer steps.
The AOS Trochanteric Nail is intended for the treatment of basilar neck, inter and subtrochanteric femoral fractures and for fractures associated with the femoral shaft. By featuring a titanium alloy nail with the most sizes available on the market, this system allows the surgeon to fit the implant to the patient.
It is easy to see that AOS has worked vigorously to make the best product available to you. Here are just a few key benefits:
- Multiple Implant Options - Short nail sizes include 9 - 13mm diameter (1mm increments) x 20 and 17cm lengths with long nails available in 10-11mm diameters x 30cm through 45cm lengths. With such a wide selection of sizes, the optimal nail can be implanted every time without altering the medullary canal to “fit” the nail.
- Anti Rotational Screw - An “A/R” Screw gives the surgeon the most stable option available in securing and fixing unstable head and neck fractures. The A/R Screw also provides the option for additional intraoperative stability to the head and neck during lag screw implantation.
- Implant Trays - All implants are supplied in a sterilization tray. Never open the wrong box again!
- Comprehensive Instrumentation - Minimally invasive instrument design which allows for a smaller incision, enhanced soft tissue management, better containment of blood loss and improved access to the bone; all corresponding with consistent reproducible results.
